MFT Trainee

Therapist

Khanam is a Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee and graduate student at Alliant International University. She holds a B.A. in French and Russian literature and a master’s degree in Social Anthropology from the University of Cambridge as well as a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine (UCI).

Khanam spent a decade immersed in the world of academic book publishing before beginning a new chapter as a therapist. Her journey is shaped by her multicultural background, her experience of parenthood, and her deep curiosity about how people find meaning through storytelling and connection.

Khanam’s research at UCI explored how attuned responses to children’s stories can foster emotional safety. These insights inform her gentle and empathetic approach to creating a safe space that honors the complexity of lived experience. She works collaboratively with clients to generate new pathways for healing and growth, starting from wherever they are.

In her free time, Khanam enjoys hiking and traveling with her loved ones. She is passionate about books, art, and social justice.
