We're excited to welcome Laura Kahn to the California Family Institute as an MFT Trainee. Laura brings a genuine passion for supporting people through life's challenges, transitions, and relationships — and we're glad to have her on the team.
Laura is currently completing her Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and has always been drawn to work that centers connection and community.
Her Approach
Laura prioritizes building a strong therapeutic relationship grounded in empathy, trust, and collaboration. She believes therapy is most effective when it feels like a partnership — where clients can explore their inner world with curiosity and care.
My style is warm, supportive, and engaging. I strive to create a safe space that empowers clients to make meaningful changes, build resilience, and move forward with greater confidence, clarity, and self-understanding.
Whether working with individuals, couples, or families, Laura is committed to meeting clients where they are and walking alongside them as they navigate growth and change.
Get to Know Laura
Outside of the therapy room, Laura enjoys spending time with her two children and husband. She loves live music, yoga, spending time outdoors, stand-up comedy, and reading.
